Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this baton, drum and
colorguard unit is to provide the children and young adults in our community
the opportunity to expand their artistic horizons. Our members will develop their skills as
baton and silk twirlers as well as drummers and percussionists.
Our staff and instructors are committed
to the growth and development of each of our members. It is our priority to provide a healthy,
positive and constructive environment for our members to grow and learn.
Our members will showcase their talents
through choreographed parade performances.
Our highly experienced instructors will create twirling/silk routines
and percussion arrangements that will challenge and develop our members, individually
and as a unit, for the various parades.
These performances display the skills of our talented members, and our
parade involvement helps to support other local communities and community-based
organizations.
In addition to recreational parade
performances, our members will have the opportunity to compete against other
units. Although competition is
important, we will never sacrifice our primary objectives for competitive
reasons.
